FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that helps people recover from injuries, manage pain, and improve movement through targeted treatments like exercises, manual therapy, and education.

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

Do you accept private health insurance or insurance referrals?

Yes! We work with major private insurers and accept insurance referrals. Please contact us for specific coverage details.

What conditions do you treat?

  • Back and neck pain

  • Sports injuries

  • Post-surgical rehabilitation

  • Joint and muscle pain

  • Arthritis and chronic pain

  • Postural issues

How do I book an appointment?

You can easily book an appointment by calling us, using our online booking system, or sending an inquiry through the “contact” option on our website.

How long is a physiotherapy session?

Initial assessments typically last up to 60 minutes and include assessment, treatment and exercise prescription, while follow-up treatments are 45 minutes which are largely treatment based and progression of exercises. These things may differ slightly depending on your needs.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring:

  • Any medical records or imaging (if applicable) or email them to your clinician prior to your appointment.

  • Comfortable clothing (for movement assessments)

  • Your insurance details (if using private health coverage)

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, we will:

Start by having a conversation about your health and the reason for your visit. This is called ‘subjective history taking.’ It helps us understand your symptoms, how they started, and how they affect your daily life. We will ask questions about your medical history, lifestyle, and any previous treatments you've had. This allows us to get a complete picture and design a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

We then perform a physical examination, deliver treatment and then design a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your condition and goals. Some patients may feel better after a few sessions, while others with more complex issues may require ongoing care.

Is physiotherapy painful?

Physiotherapy is generally not painful, but some treatments may involve temporary discomfort as you regain movement. We always prioritise your comfort and will adjust techniques if needed.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes, we provide home-based physiotherapy based on clinical needs. Contact us for more details.

Do you offer post-surgery rehabilitation?

Absolutely! We work closely with consultants to offer tailored rehab programs for post-surgical recovery.

What are your fees?

Initial assessment fees: £80

Follow up appointment fees: £65

How do I pay?

We accept card or cash payment but please note that we do not hold change so please bring the exact amount.
